Between 1855 and 1870 the Customs & Excise staff who were responsible for formally maintaining the various Tyneside
registries, recorded the builder details only as far as the town and not the builder's name. This means that many
vessels are simply recorded against North Shields or South Shields as appropriate.
Outside of these dates the exact names of the builders in the following list are as yet unidentified.
