29/09/1847 P Legg of Newcastle purchased the paddle tug JAMES & EMMA which had been built in North Shields in 1832
17/07/1848 T Legg of Shields purchased the tug TYRO which had been built at South Shields in 1838
25/10/1849 TYRO was registered to S Legg of Shields. She was sold to Hull owners in 1853
02/06/1851

JAMES & EMMA ownership passed to Sarah Legg of Newcastle and others, being registered at South Shields. She was sold in 1854
29/03/1854

GEORGE & JANE purchased by Mathew and Joseph Legg at North Shields. She had been built in 1833 and they kept her until 1862
04/1862

Thomas Legg purchased LION which had been built at North Shields in 1845. His address at South Shields was not disclosed in MNL
12/12/1866 George Legg (Snr & Jnr) became part owners of the new tug FRIENDS
1877

George Legg purchased the new paddle tug TWO FRIENDS (who were they?). At this time his address is listed as Dockwrays Bank, East Holborn, South Shields
by 1878 George Legg is the principal owner of FRIENDS and lived at 10 East Holborn, South Shields
1880 George Legg sold TWO FRIENDS to another South Shields tugman for service in Greece

George Legg the Elder, Peter Legg, Robert Legg, Jacob Legg, Joseph Legg and Edward Legg purchased the tug WELCOME. She had been built in South Shields in 1847. They paid £130.0
02/1889 The paddle tug HUGH BOURNE was advertised for sale in the Shields Daily Gazette
04/1889


HUGH BOURNE was reported as being sold at auction to George Legge (sic) for £177.0. However although the MNL records the re-registration at South Shields as being in 1889 it is not until 1906 that the owner is reported as Robert Legg residing at 183 Taylor Street, South Shields

George Legg purchased 48/64 of HUGH BOURNE (1871) from an owner in Dublin for £132.75 and 11 days later sold 32/64ths to Robert Legg for £88.5.
02/1896

Robert Legg purchased the main shareholding of SELINA which was built at North Shields in 1870. He resided at 18 South Taylor Street, South Shields and was still there when she was sold in 1916
by 1916

The principle owner of HUGH BOURNE was reported to be Robert H Legg residing at 188 South Taylor Street, South Shields
13/02/1918 HUGH BOURNE sank after striking a submerged object off St Mary's Island, Whitley Bay
